“And the day came when the pain of staying in a tight bud was greater than the risk it takes to bloom”,  a quote by Anias Nin, changed my life.

When  I realized I had been allowing others to determine my fate, I knew I had to step up, take control, and create my own life.

I identified strongly with the butterfly emerging and becoming something new and free - still me, but changed (in a very good way).

I listen to my heart and feelings, not letting the brain and fear gain any ground, everything is easy and fun.

I am Blooming Wild and feel drawn to share my art, inspirations, and experiences with others so they can do the same.

My Background

Most of my art starts with a photo that I play with using several different types of editing software but I also use acrylics, watercolor, ink, and mixed media that I photograph and play with some more.

I use Sony and Leica cameras, as well as my iPhone, always experimenting with settings and lenses to see what happens.

I use a lot of text

I use a lot of texture and color to create something that, for me, best reflects the picture and feeling I experienced during the creation of the piece.

Sometimes, I also use words.  Typically short form poetry and phrases that complete the image for me.

I love to travel. But I don't really do typical travel photography.  I'm looking for the wildlife, flowers, waterfalls, oceans, mountains, and dramatic sunrise and sunsets. No selfies or historic landmarks.

I'm drawn to color and love to get as up close and personal with flowers and animals as possible.

Details are what I'm usually most in

Details are what I'm usually most interested in but colorful landscapes will catch my attention as well as big waves on the beach where I can catch the droplets in the air.

Reflections are fun. Unusual people not posing are also interesting.
